Traveling During a Pandemic: Disney

Even though it looks much different than it did pre-COVID, Lorrie and her family enjoyed their time at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and recommend it for anyone thinking of going.

Q. What were your travel dates and where did you stay?

A. We went to Disney to celebrate my youngest son's high school graduation. Our travel dates were August 10th - 17th, 2020.

We stayed at Disney's Contemporary Resort, but that was not our original choice. We originally planned on staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

Q. What was your airport check-in and flight experience like?

A. Our check-in was quick and easy. We flew out of Cleveland on Frontier Airlines. The plane was very clean, the flight was very smooth, and I felt very safe on the plane. They made it known from the minute you stepped on the plane that masks were required at all times.

Q. What were the main things you noticed about traveling to Disney during a pandemic?

A. The crowds were very low in comparison to being there before the pandemic, and the staff was constantly cleaning.

Q. How did you make your experience memorable?

A. Although a lot of the things we are used to doing when on a Disney vacation weren’t available (character meet and greets, buffets, parades, and fireworks), we made the most of it and had a great time.

We took advantage of the short wait times and got to do almost everything in all the parks, and we did some things more than once.

Q. What advice do you have for those wanting to visit Disney?

A. I would say if you are on the ledge about going on a Disney vacation just do it!!!

The face masks took some getting used to but they were manageable. Also, social distancing was very controlled in the ride lines by markers on the ground.

Whether you're considering a Disney vacation, a national park trip, an all-inclusive stay in Mexico, or anything in between, email us or give us a call. We'll make sure you know everything necessary to have a safe and amazing trip.
