Scandinavian Cruise Post-Pandemic

In July 2022, Rod and Cinda embarked on a 14-day Scandinavian cruise with Viking. They embarked in Stockholm, Sweden and visited various cities in Poland, Denmark, Germany, and Norway before disembarking in Bergen, Norway.

One excursion was included in every city, but they opted for additional excursions as well; so they were able to do everything from trying the local cuisine to watching a Viking chieftain demonstrate the balance of a traditional Viking sword at the Gudvangen Viking Village.

While the USA and Viking have removed their COVID-19 testing policies, Rod and Cinda were kind enough to share some helpful COVID tips for anyone going on a cruise...

  • Get fully vaccinated and boosted. Take copies of those records with you.

  • Get tested before you leave home.

  • Wear masks continuously at the airport and on the plane, especially in long lines for security and customs.

  • Wash your hands frequently.

  • Take a couple of rapid COVID tests with you.

  • Take Tylenol, cough syrup, nasal spray, and throat lozenges. Pack the liquids in a Ziploc bag.

  • If you're careful and a little bit lucky, you can leave all that stuff at your last stop and have more room for souvenirs.
